Does my child need special clothes or shoes for class?
No, while we ask that students are dressed in comfortable, appropriate clothes in which they can easily move and tumble, we do not require special dance clothes or shoes. For most of our classes, children may have bare feet. It is helpful if students have close-toed athletic shoes available to them during class, however. Children are free to wear dance clothes and ballet shoes during class (and tap shoes during tap portion of class) if they like, but it is not required.
Does my child need to bring anything to class?
Children do not need to bring anything to class in general. They may bring a water bottle and their own hand sanitizer, if they like. Children must bring signed liability waiver to their first class, if parents haven’t sent it ahead of time.
Are sibling discounts available?
Yes, please inquire to Miss Kira for details at KinderdanceEastBay@yahoo.com or 415-385-6501

For instance, if a parent needed to cancel their child’s class effective December 1st, then they must email Miss Kira (KinderdanceEastBay@yahoo.com) by November 30th, letting her know about the cancelation date. Cancelations/ Refunds will not be granted once a month of classes or a Session of Classes has begun, except in extreme circumstances approved by Kinderdance East Bay Owner, Kira Lancaster.

If Kinderdance East Bay or one their teachers has to cancel class for an unavoidable circumstance, Kinderdance East Bay will do their best to find a mutually agreeable make-up day and time. If a make-up date is not possible, Kinderdance East Bay will refund that class.
Kinderdance East Bay is not required to refund or make-up classes caused by an “act of God”, such as (but not limited to) an unplanned school closure because of smoke or weather, but will do their best to make up classes when possible.
How much do classes cost?
Tuition for each class depends on the type of class. In general, 45-60 minute in-person classes cost $18/ per class/ per student. Shorter classes cost less.
Tuition for virtual classes cost $15/ class. Siblings can attend for free the same virtual class, in which a student has paid & enrolled, and paying students can attend multiple classes per week for free.
Do I get a refund if my child can’t make a class?
Once a class or session has begun, there are no refunds given, except in extenuating circumstances approved by Kinderdance East Bay Owner.
Will tuition be prorated if I enroll my child after a session has started?

In-Person Class Questions:
How do In-Person Outdoor classes work during Covid?
Unless otherwise stipulated by participating families, who have committed to a private social bubble, in-person classes currently require teachers and students to wear masks. All students and teachers will have their temperature taken before each class. No one will be permitted to join class with a temperature of 100 degrees or higher. All teachers and students remain 6 feet apart during class, except when the teacher is patterning or spotting a skill, or move, at which point both student and teacher MUST wear a mask. If the gymnastics mat is used during class, it is sanitized between each participant. All props are cleaned after class, and students are asked to sanitize hands before and after using props during class. Signed Liability forms will be required from each student prior to participation in class.
Is my child required to wear a mask during In-Person Outdoor classes during Covid?
Yes. All students and teachers are required to wear masks currently during class, unless students’ families are co-mingling, and the students’ families permit students to take off masks when distancing. Students and teachers MUST wear masks when teacher is within 6 feet of student(s) for patterning and spotting reasons, particularly during floor acrobatic sections. Teachers will wear a mask at all times during class and at check-in. Signed Liability forms will be required from each student prior to participation in class.
Can I organize a private in-person class for my child’s “pod” or social bubble?
Yes! If you are interested in helping us organize a private class for your child and their “pod,” please contact Kira at 415-385-6501 or KinderdanceEastBay@yahoo.com
Do In-Person Classes have an open enrollment?
Some in-person classes have an open enrollment. If the class is a private “social bubble”, then the enrollment is not open for that class. Kinderdance East Bay classes may be found by clicking the white “Enroll in Classes” button on the following link:
https://kinderdanceeastbay.com/classes
If the “Classroom” is listed as “Private”, then that class is not open. If the “Classroom” is listed as “Open”, then that class is open.
What is Kinderdance East Bay’s cleaning/ sanitizing protocol during Covid?
Please see our Covid Cleaning Protocol by clicking button below.
What is the minimum # of students for in-person class?
We must have 6 students, who pay at a full rate in order to begin a session of classes. The minimum session is one month (4) of classes.
What is the maximum # of students for in-person class?
To some degree, the maximum number of students depends on the space in which we are conducting class, as we want to have enough space to maintain a distance of 6 feet from each other. For a live class during Covid, we like to cap the number of students at 10 for a class of 3-5 year-olds and at 12 for a class of 5-8 year-olds.
Is a 6 foot distance maintained between students and teacher during class?
Yes, unless otherwise stipulated by participating families, in-person classes currently require teachers and children to maintain a distance of 6 feet. Teachers will maintain a distance of 6 feet, unless spotting or patterning students (at which point masks will be required for all), but families may request that there is no patterning or spotting during class and that the 6 foot distance is never broken. Signed Liability forms will be required from each student prior to participation in class.
Is a 6 foot distance maintained between students during class?
Yes, unless otherwise stipulated by participating families, all students will maintain a 6 foot distance from each other during class. If students are co-mingling/ “podding” outside of class and families confirm this and request that the minimum distance between students is not enforced, students may break this minimum distance during class. Signed Liability forms will be required from each student prior to participation in class.
Does a Parent or Caregiver have to be present during live classes?
For in-person, outdoor classes, a parent or caregiver MUST be present and available during classes, given the safety issues of an open space. For in-person, outdoor classes at a private residence, at least one adult must be present and available during class.
For virtual classes, we ask that a parent or caregiver is nearby and available to the student during their class. We encourage participation in class of parents and caregivers, but it is not required.
